Hats! Shennanagins! Aquarium!

Hey guys!!!  This is just going to be a quick update with a bunch of pictures because I actually have a friend over right now and I won't ever do this if I don't do it right now and it's rude to be on the computer when you have a guest over!  Did that make sense!

I made some hats for a some friends at work and the boys tried them out for me.

I finally decorated Rowan's room!

Buck got me flowers for Valentine's Day!  And I didn't even ask!  He's learning!

I finally finished Rowan's baby blanket!

Belly got stuck.

Belly got a flower.

Rowie got glasses.

We went to the aquarium!  And Stelly wore his new hat!

That's it!

Good Eve! Hallow's Eve!

Since we're a bunch of Mormons, livin' in Mormon Town, we celebrated Halloween last night- as I'm sure most of you did!  We couldn't afford to buy costumes for the boys this year and weren't sure we were going to celebrate anyway since Buck had to work and it was cold and I was going to be home by myself with the boys.  Still, I wanted to do something fun for Rowan because he's old enough to know that something's going on and it's Stellan's first Halloween, so he HAD to dress up!

I had come up with a few ideas for our family Halloween costumes, and although they were all going to be home made, I didn't have everything I needed for them on hand.  I'll show you who we were going to be so that you can see how awesome it could have been:

Buck and I would have been either Wallace and Gromit (from Wallace and Gromit) or Aang and Toph (from Avatar:  The Last Airbender)
And Rowan and Stellan would have been either Shaun and Penguin (from Wallace and Gromit) or Momo and Appa (from Avatar:  The Last Airbender)

As it happened, Buck didn't end up dressing up, and I ended up using an old curtain to make the boys into a crab and shrimp:
Luckily, I had some construction paper left over from Rowan's birthday party (I tried to post pictures from that but blogger wasn't havin' it) so I could make myself a costume as well!

I took the boys to a Halloween party for a bit and Rowan got some candy and then we went to visit Buck at work so he could have himslf a little piece of holiday cheer!

Hope everyone else had an enjoyable holiday!  CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!

Heeeey you guuuuuys....

I'm back with a vengeance!  Or rather, I'm just back.  I haven't posted in a while because I haven't had pictures to upload and since I waste no time reading blog posts without pictures, I expect most people are the same!  If not, my bad-but don't expect any picture-free posts from me anytime soon :)

Not much is new with us!  I've been on the look out for a job for a few months now and, although I've had several offers, nothing that fits our schedule has come along just yet.  This economy is so lame.

The boys are still best friends and they're starting to beat each other up a little more so I can only imagine where things will go from here.  They continue to spend most of their time unitentionally (or intentionally) entertaining me and I love it!

Stelly has started eating table foods (he has two teeth now) but he hasn't yet grown too important to stuff any other thing he finds in his mouth as well.  This is much to Rowan's delight (and my chagrin) whenever he pulls his diaper off to poop on the floor and Stelly's there to make the most of it.  Stelly loves him some poop to eat.  I promise I'm not a bad mom.

Rowie has a burgeoning affinity for the written word, so anytime he sees something with writing on it, he takes a minute to peruse.  It's particularly cute when I'm going through the mail for coupons.

Aside from that, I've made a few iprovements to the house (very minor) and you can check THAT out on my other blog!

Peace!

Summer Lovin'

The boys and I finally got into the summer spirit while Rod and Kate were visiting from New Mexico the other week.  While they were here, we went to Cowabunga Bay with them and Christa, Tys, Syd, and Ian.  It was so much fun and The Bot and I got super brown!  I burnt a little on my back, but I was surprised and relieved to see that Rowan didn't burn at all!

Sadly, I don't have any pictures to post from that excursion because I went old-school and got a water proof wind-up camera for the occassion!  We'll see if I ever get around to developing those pictures.  It was so cute, Tyson and Syd kept asking me if I was going to go home and upload the pictures to my computer and I was like "no, it's not a digital camera" and they were completely baffled by the concept.  "....How do you get the pictures?"  "How long does it take?"  "Is it expensive?"  *sigh* Young wippersnappers.  :)

Last week, on my mom's day off, we took the boys down to the Aquatic Center in Lehi.  It was pretty freakin awesome!  The Bean and The Bot went nuts over all the cool slides and squirty things and water falls and everything.  There was a part outside that was shallow enough for Stellan to actually crawl around in, cute little swings inside for him (and Rowan) to sit in and feel the water, a little slide that I could take Rowan down, a lazy river...  It was pretty sweet.  We're planning on getting a Family Membership sometime in the near future.  I was able to get a few pictures of the boys while we were having a snack by the pool.
We had quite a scare when Rowan tripped and fell into the lazy river, but thank Heavens my mom was right there and she hero-dove into the water and lifted him out--still chewing on his crackers :)

It does cost money to do most fun things outside, and the grass in our lawn is so dry it would pierce the flesh on our feet if we tried to play out there, so the boys have come up with some new games to play inside when we can't afford to go out.
Rowan loves putting Stellan in his Lego wagon and pushing/pulling him around the house for hours on end.  Stellan doesn't love it, but he doesn't hate it, either.  He's a really good sport, haha.
When Stellan is otherwise engaged, Rowan likes to practice styling his hair.  With vaseline.  We told him that vaseline doesn't hold the way actual hair wax does.  It also doesn't wash out the same.  Or at all.
But, that didn't so much matter to him.  His love affair with vaseline continues.
As far as Stellan's "other engagements" go, he can usually be found rolling around on the floor or sucking on his own face because he's teething.

Buck had the day off today so, after running some errands, we all hung out in the living room and watched documentaries.  Rowan wanted to color, so I got out his big coloring book and markers.  He scribbled for a bit before coming over to me, laying accross my lap, and handing me a bunch of markers.  "Belly?" he said.  "Color?  Belly?"  So I drew a portrait of him on his belly.  "Leg?"  On went a pair of eyes on his knees, flip flops on his feet, and a heart with a banner reading "MOM" on his upper thigh.  "Eye?"  "Boobs?"  "Feet?"  You get the idea.  We ended up with this:
Of course, we couldn't leave out The Bean!
He got his very own tramp stamp!  (Rowan really went to town on him later but I didn't get any pictures of that.)  They both ended up needing a good bath afterward.
I know I say this all the time, but I freakin love my boys :)
